• ZURICH DRIVE SHOOTING: On Sept. 15, Manteca Police officers were dispatched to the 800 block of Zurich Drive for suspects in two vehicles shooting at each other. The vehicles were described as a white four-door vehicle and a blue vehicle. Both vehicles were last seen traveling southbound on Zurich Drive. Officers arrived on scene and located shell casings in the roadway. A witness in the area reported seeing the white vehicle chasing after the blue vehicle as it fled southbound. The passenger in the white vehicle was hanging outside the vehicle shooting at the blue vehicle. The only other description provided was the white vehicle was a 90s-model four-door sedan. Officer Smigelski is the investigating officer; anyone with information is urged to contact him at rsmigelski@ci.manteca.ca.us.

• WEAPON BRANDISHING: On Sept. 16, officers were dispatched to a vehicle collision at the intersection of Wawona Street and Union Road. The collision involved three cars, and one of the vehicle’s three occupants had fled from the scene. Prior to officers’ arrival at the scene, 911 calls were received from the 1100 block of Mission Ridge Drive, where the residents were reporting two male subjects had forced their way into their residence. Officer Beermann and Officer Lub arrived at the residence, and the two subjects were called out of the house. Both complied and were detained. Additional calls to Manteca Police placed the third subject, who had fled the scene of the vehicle collision, to be walking on Swan Street. Officer Goforth arrived and detained this subject. While this was taking place, additional Police units were requested to respond to the collision location, where there was now a physical altercation between several subjects and possibly Fire Department personnel. Eventually, Police personnel were able to contain the scene and determine the entire incident, including the collision, was a result of a subject, later identified as Miguel Spencer, attempting to dissuade or intimidate a sexual assault victim. Spencer was arrested, charged with Witness Intimidation and 417 Brandishing a weapon.
