The East Union Lancers took care of business in a major way, dropping only one match in an 8-1 Valley Oak League victory over the Sonora Wildcats Tuesday.

East Union (3-3) , now on a matching wunning streak, earned five victories in singles play, getting wins from Rebekah Jacobson (6-1, 6-4), Brooke Niendorf (6-1, 6-0) Nikki Reichmuth (6-2, 6-4), Maddie Ysalva (6-1, 6-1) and Amanda Dart (6-4, 6-2).

There was no setback in doubles action with the lancers getting a 6-0, 6-0 win from Naylei Del Rio and Marina Salyer. Victoria Vezaldenos and Lydia Vezaldenos won 6-4, 6-2 and Lauren Cotton and Celine Mendoza handled their opponents 6-2, 6-3.

“We’re keeping the momentum going,” East Union head coach Rick Mitchell said. “The team is developing and doing well.”

Sierra 8, Kimball 1

The Timberwolves (6-1) dropped one match in singles play, but other than that it was all Sierra in its win over Kimball High Tuesday in league play.

Manteca 8, Oakdale 1

Hunt and Diaz won 6-1, 6-2, while Julia Saling and Sealy McAdams won 6-3, 6-2. Elizabeth Tolbert and Katie Inderbitzin won 6-3, 6-2 to help the Buffaloes wrap up a 7-0 VOL first half run.

The Buffaloes will open the second half of league play hosting Sonora Thursday.

East Union 5, Weston Ranch 4

The Lancers edged out Weston Ranch by a point last Thursday in VOL action.

The Cougars got singles action wins from Chelsea Olitan, Delarin Barut, Abigail Balingit and Kazoua Vang.

“We’re a young team,” Weston Ranch coach Julia Bylow said. “I’m proud of how my girls are improving and building off each other.”
