RIPON — A drug cache of 50 ecstasy pills, 24 doses of LSD, prescription drugs, syringes, narcotics paraphernalia and cash were seized by two Ripon officers shortly after 3 a.m. Saturday.

Officers Mario Yset and Danny Sauer conducted a traffic stop on a suspicious white Acura which had been parked behind a closed business.

The patrolmen immediately caught sight of what they believed to be narcotics contraband in plain view inside the vehicle and Matthew Lee Pierce, 21, of Ripon, was arrested and booked into the San Joaquin County Jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance for sale, transportation of a controlled substance, possession of hypodermic syringes, possession of controlled substance paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription.

Detective Gordon West with Ripon’s Special Investigations Unit continued to investigate the case early this week.  Two search warrants were obtained and detectives uncovered psilocybin, ecstasy and marijuana at a location associated with the subject in the ongoing investigation.

As of press time Tuesday night no appearance had been scheduled for Pierce in Superior Court and no bail was being allowed the suspect.
