Manteca Ford will donate $5 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure for every person that comes in and takes a test drive from Friday, Oct.5, through Sunday, Oct. 14. An additional $100 will be donated for each vehicle sold.

Breast cancer is a type of cancer in which cells in the breast tissue divide and grow out of control. Phil Waterford is particularly passionate about this cause -- his own mother is a breast cancer survivor. Breast cancer is a widespread and random disease, striking women and men of all ages and races. African Americans and Latinas are diagnosed at the same rate as Caucasian women, but have a 36% higher mortality rate primarily due to lack of information.

Breast cancer is the most prevalent cancer in the world today, with about 1.3 million people diagnosed annually. But there is hope. Thanks to heightened awareness, early detection through screening, improved treatment methods, and increased access to breast health services, people have a greater chance of survival than ever before. Manteca Ford wants to make a difference by educating people, raising funds and ultimately saving lives.
