The Fury battled to a pair of ties in Manteca Area Soccer League under-19 girls play last Saturday.

In the double header, they played Ebbets Pass in the opener to a scoreless draw at the Regional Sports Complex.

The Fury had goal attempts by Anna Arriola, Ashna Singh, Carla Ochoa, Jessica Milobar and Joanna Martinez.

Georgia Arriola and Carly Thissen were credited for their stellar defense, with goal keepers Ashley Freeman and Taylor Gray managing 13 and 6 saves, respectively.

In the second game, the Fury fought Stockton (Filipula) to a 1-1 tie.

Ochoa scored the only goal for the Fury, who had key saves from goalies Gray and Freeman.

Gray deflected a shot that appeared to be sure-fire goal. Instead, she snagged the ball by making a full-out diving stretch.

Freeman, Ashley Tarango and Cecilia Ibarra-Bejar tried to tack on to the Fury’s 1-0 lead.

On defense, Clarissa Medrano was recognized for her strong play.

Stockton tied the game in the second half.
