Ripon High’s Sienna Starck finished the final two holes 3-over but had a good enough start to hold off Jenny Wickham to earn low-medalist honors Tuesday at Jack Tone Golf Course.

But it was Wickham and the Lady Knights of Ripon Christian that prevailed in the Valley Foothill League North Division match, 168-202.

Starck was rock solid through seven holes and ended up with a 4-over par 35, two strokes better than Wickham. But with the Indians (3-8) missing two starters, third-place Ripon Christian (7-4) had too much depth.

Robyn Reyes took third overall, turning in a 41 for the Knights. Vanessa Vallo carded a 43, and Stacie Darretta a 47 rounded out the team’s score with a 47.

Contributing for Ripon were Brittany Amezcua (54), Sierra Atilano (54) and Haley Rae Rose (59).

Ripon caps the regular season Thursday at Calaveras, while RC hosts Linden. The VFL—North Tournament takes place next Monday at Greenhorn Creek Resort & Golf Club.

Sierra 296, Weston Ranch 338

The Timberwolves improved to 7-6 with one dual match to go, but coach Jack Thomson wasn’t entirely pleased with the effort at Manteca Park Golf Course.

“The win was overshadowed by the fact that the 296 was our worst score in over a month,” he said. “We have some girls who are a little under the weather, but we will need to do better on Thursday.

Lexus Barnes was the top scorer with a 49. She was followed by McKenna Doyle (56), Vanessa Rodriguez (59), Elia Vazquez (65) and Kaitlea Maestas (67).

Jonelle Mungcal paced Weston Ranch with a 56. Lydia Esperanza (61), Amira Areja (73), Tyler Mar (74) and Gwenavere Brown (74) accounted for the rest.

Sierra takes on rival Manteca Thursday in its final tune-up for the league tournament.
