Those who arrive Saturday before 7 p.m. for the final Movies in the Park screening of the summer will get in free.

The feature this week at Woodward Park is Brendan Fraser’s movie entitled “Inkheart”.

Three bands will provide live entertainment prior to the movie that will start shortly after dusk. They are the youth rock group Zephyr, the reggae rock band Braata, and a group from The Rock church out of Lathrop.

There are concessions such as popcorn and soft drinks at the gathering coordinated by DeCristo Productions.

The gates open at 5:30 p.m. Saturday in the storm basin. There is a $1 charge for those 12 and over to help cover city costs. People are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets and jackets. Mosquito repellent is also suggested.

Even though this is the last movie of the season at Woodward Park, you will have an opportunity to see a free movie screening in a park in August as well as enjoy free popcorn and free soda.

The Place of Refuge Church is screening “Fire Proof” that focuses on couples and relationships on two Saturdays at 7 p.m.

The first screening is Aug. 8 at Doxey Park. The second screening is Aug. 22 at Raymus Village Park.
