Man standing atop car on Interstate 5 leads CHP to 122 pounds of marijuana

STOCKTON — A man reportedly standing atop his vehicle in the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 near Highway 4 brought CHP officers to the scene shortly before 2 p.m. Tuesday to find the car abandoned.

The responding officer found a distinct smell of cannabis coming from the passenger side window of the vehicle.  In searching the car the CHP patrolmen reportedly found 122 pounds of cannabis inside the vehicle.

Officers said there was a large amount of identifying paperwork related to the owner inside the vehicle.  Further investigation will be conducted by the CHP investigators.
