Sheriff’s SWAT action in Stockton wounds suspect

STOCKTON - A Stockton man was wounded during a Sheriff’s Department SWAT action at 6 a.m. Wednesday in the 3700 block of East Miner Street, according to Sheriff’s spokesman Deputy Les Garcia.

The SWAT team was reportedly in the process of assisting narcotics investigators with serving a search warrant at a residence.

Garcia said that on entry into the residence a suspect armed with a shotgun was shot by an entry team member and transported to an area hospital where his condition was not known at press time.  No Sheriff’s deputies were injured during the incident, he added.
