Marcos Castillo scored three touchdowns last Saturday while leading the Manteca Jaguars to a Cen-Cal Junior Football League NFC Division win over the Oakdale Stampede.

The 45-8 victory by the varsity squad completed the sweep by the Jaguars at all four levels.

Castillo also racked up 108 yards on nine carries during his big day. On top of that, he scored on a 78-yard interception return.

In addition, Seuseu Altofaituli, Brenden Arreola and Eddie Santos had rushing a TD each to further help pace the Jaguars’ balanced attack.

Leading the way was quarterback Gerson Gomez, who was praised for his work in controlling the Manteca offense.

On defense, Altofaituli and Santos wreaked havoc on Oakdale. They had eight and seven tackles, respectively, to show for their efforts.

Steven Gomez II, Julian Serrano, and James Smith pitched in with four tackles each.

“I’m very proud of all of our boys,” said coach Kindal Justis. “Overall, it was a dominating performance and one that all of our kids can take as momentum going into next week’s playoff game.”

The Jaguars will play host to the Merced Bears.

The Rebels closed out the Delta Youth Football League regular season with a convincing win over the Tracy Cougars.

With the victory, playoff-bound Delta posted it an 8-2 mark. Defense, again, was the key to success, with Tyler Brintley recovering a pair of fumbles and Isaac Rosales helping stuff the Cougar offense.

Delvon Bradford hit for a pair of touchdown passes. He found Christopher Contreras on one and Junior Ballard on the other.

Isaiah Sholund also rushed for a TD.

The Rebels, seeded No. 2 in the playoffs, will take on the Manteca Chargers in two weeks.
