STOCKTON - The Delta Center for the Arts LH Horton Jr. Gallery presents the third annual Photography Exhibition and Awards Competition: Street Photography, Nov. 15 to Dec. 14.

A reception is Nov. 15 at 5 p.m. Both the exhibit and reception are free.

Each year the Photography Exhibition presents photographic works in both analogue and digital formats with a specific focus or theme. This national exhibition features 17 photographers and 33 images exploring street scenes in a variety of styles and social-cultural context.

The Exhibition Awards go to:

• Best of Show: Leo Mendonca - Double Take

• 2nd Place: Richard Ott - Woman with Umbrella Eyes

• 3rd Place: Eddie Wexler - New York City

Exhibiting artists also include: Marti Belcher, Yiyun Chen, Glen Gross, David Jones, Chae Kihn, Bill Klipp, Alex Lin, John Martino, Leighton McWilliams, Andrew H. Miller, Leigh Moose, Dale O’Dell, Michael Randolph (a Stockton resident and former SJDC student) and Sterne Slaven.

The exhibition juror is Deborah Klochko, Executive Director of the Museum of Photographic Arts, San Diego.

“What you will find in this selection of photographs is work that will make you laugh, some that will bring you to tears, but most importantly are the images that challenge how you think about the medium,” Klochko said. “Good photography is about taking chances and the award winners in this group are exploring new possibilities. This competition and resulting exhibition is a celebration of the diversity of street photography.”

The Gallery is located on the ground floor of Shima Center, and is wheelchair accessible. Admission is free and open to the public. Recommended parking is available in the Shima lot for a fee of $1. Tours are welcome and gallery talks may be addressed by contacting gallery director, Jan Marlese, at: (209) 954-5507, or jmarlese@deltacollege.edu.
