A Fresno woman who was kidnapped by her husband on Tuesday was rescued by Manteca officer Dan Chestnut when he ordered her 33-year-old husband from his car on Northwoods Avenue at gunpoint.
Police had received a report from the Fresno PD earlier in the day that Jotham Trumbo and his estranged wife might be in the Manteca area.  They had been reportedly seen leaving Trumbo’s home in his silver 2010 Toyota Camry.
Within some 20 minutes of receiving the bulletin to be on the lookout for the couple, Officer Chestnut spotted the vehicle driving in the 100 block of Northwoods near Highway 99 and Yosemite Avenue.
Officers said it was fortunate the woman had not been injured.  Fresno police were notified and drove to Manteca to take over their investigation.
