Three teens have been appointed to vacancies on the Manteca Youth Advisory Commission.

Siblings Ash’lee Valadez and Brittanee Valadez of the Life Training Academy as well as Kayla Menefee-Dall of Manteca High were named to the commission last week by the Manteca City Council.

The Manteca City Council in August appointed Manteca High students Vanessa Rasmussen, Sierra High students Alexander Orr, Donna Marie Lucero, and Reigan Vinson Alcana, as well as Manteca Unified Vocational Academy Culinary Arts student Brian Burns to the commission. The latest appointments mean all commission vacancies have been filled.

The youth group coordinates a number of events including the junior high dances at the Golden West Community Gym School and assists with various community projects. They also are called on occasionally to advise the council on youth issues.

Ash’lee Valadez is a 10th grader who volunteers as a teacher’s aide for elementary teachers. She is also a volunteer at her church’s summer Bible camp.

Brittanee Valadez also assists in lower grades and has helped with school fundraisers along with her sister.

Menefee-Dall is a Manteca High senior. She is also a varsity cheerleader, served as a Manteca Chamber of Commerce Junior Ambassador, is an honor roll student and has participated in theatre and link crew.
