Nancy Leal, who the Director of School Readiness for the Manteca Unified School District, is scheduled to be honored at tonight’s school board meeting.

She was recently named the 2012 Action on Behalf of Children Award for her efforts in the category of public agency / school.

The ABC Awards are presented annually in special recognition to those who care about children in San Joaquin County.

Leal will be recognized under Superintendent Jason Messer’s reports during the 7 p.m. open session in the MUSD Office board room, 2271 W. Louise Ave.

In other agenda items:

•The oath of office will be administered to new members, Sam Fant and Deborah Romero, and incumbent Michael Seelye. Trustees will then look to select a board president, vice president, and clerk during their annual re-organization session.

•The board is scheduled to receive a check from a representative of Re/ Max to the Health Services Department.

•Sierra High student Nicholas (Niko) Gonzalez will be recognized for performing a heroic act.

•Trustees will hear an update on Master Facility Plan.
