Manteca Ford dealership owner Phil Waterford, City Manager Karen McLaughlin, Police Chief Nick Obligacion, developer Toni Raymus, and Fire Chief Kirk Waters are among nearly two dozen models that will show off the latest JC Penney styles at Saturday’s Champagne Brunch & Fashion Show at the Manteca Senior Center.

It is part of the monthly senior breakfast taking place at 11 a.m. at the center at 295 Cherry Lane for those 50 years and older. Tickets are limited and cost $10. They can be purchased at the Manteca Senior Center or by calling 456-8650.

The entrée is a holiday steak while the appetizer is a shrimp cocktail. Sides include fingerlings, stuffed mushrooms, and wrapped asparagus. Dessert consists of truffles and champagne.

The breakfast is being staged by the Senior Saturday Breakfast Crew and Give Every Child a Chance.

Models include members of the Raymus, Rebeiro, Waters, Munguia, Mallory, McLaughlin, Obligacion, and Waterford families as well as Troylene Saylor of the South San Joaquin Irrigation District and attorney Kendall Darr.

Joann Jamerson is coordinating the fashion show that will showcase JC Penney evening wear, sportswear, and daytime causal.



Trips and tours

The Manteca Senior Center, 295 Cherry Lane, offers trips and tours that are open to anyone age 18 and up.

• HOLIDAY SHOPPING DAY AT UNION SQUARE: Wednesday, Dec. 12, $42 per person. Depart senior center at 8 a.m. for San Francisco return at about 6 p.m. Drop-off and pick-up in front of Westin St. Francis Hotel.

• NUNSET BOULEVARD: Starring Cindy Williams at the Gallo Center in Modesto on Friday, Jan. 25. Cost is $78 per person. It includes show ticket, fine dining at Maxi’s and transportation. Departs 5 p.m. from senior center and returns at about 11 p.m.

• CHABOT SPACE & SCIENCE CENTER: Saturday, Feb. 9, $48 per person.

• CELTIC FAIR, SONORA: Friday, March 8, $40 per person.

• CASTLE AIR MUSEUM: Wednesday, April 27, $37 per person.
