East Union has definitely had one consistent theme thus far this season.

Winning. That continued for the Lancers Friday as they knocked off the host Enochs Eagles 66-56 in Modesto.

East Union (8-0) held a 32-24 halftime lead after senior Jordan Kron came out on fire to open the game. Kron connected for four 3-pointers in the first half and teammate Robbie Gleockler nailed a 3-pointer as the half expired to pad the Lancer lead.

The victory was the Lancers’ eighth straight on the young season and the seventh in which the squad has put up at least 60 points.

“We are definitely finding ways to win ball games,” East Union head coach Brett Lewis said. “The kids are really showing a will to win and that is ultimately what is helping us.”

Kron finished with 21 points to lead the Lancers, while Jacob Danhoff finsished in double-digits with 18. Justin Nieto was hampered by early foul trouble, but made it through the contest and finished with nine points.

The Lancers will try and remain perfect on the season Tuesday when they travel to Ripon to take on the Ripon Indians.

Inderkum 80, Weston Ranch 79

The Cougars (3-2) went into halftime knotted at 39-39, but could not finish with more points than Inderkum in a one point loss in the semifinals of the Rocklin Tournament Friday.

The scoring spiked in the fourth with both teams putting up their biggest point totals of the evening.

Weston Ranch was able to put up 25 points, but saw the one-point loss slip away with Inderkum’s 28-point fourth quarter.
