Almond Blossom Kick Off Dinner set for Jan. 10

RIPON — The 51st annual Almond Blossom Kick Off & Tribute Dinner takes place on Thursday, Jan. 10, at the Spring Creek Golf & Country Club, 1580 East Spring Creek Drive.

This year Bethany Home sis being honored with the theme is “Blooming with Age”.

The dinner includes the opportunity to meet this year’s Miss Almond Blossom/Miss Ripon candidates.

The no host bar is from 6 to 7 p.m. followed by dinner.

Tickets are $30 per person. The deadline to buy tickets is Wednesday, Jan. 9.

Tickets are on sale at the Ripon Chamber of Commerce office, 929 West Main St.

The Ripon Chamber of Commerce’s 31st annual Almond Blossom Run is Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013 at Mavis Stouffer Park.

The 8K age categories are 12 & under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80 & over.

The mile age categories are 8 & under, 9-13, 14-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80 & over.

There are separate men’s and women’s categories.

The start and finish are at Mavis Stouffer Park located at 1000 Stouffer St. on the corner of Manley Road off East Main Street, Ripon.

Cash awards and medals will be awarded after the race is completed. There are free T-shirts of you are registered by 5 p.m. on Feb. 8, 2013.

The registration fee for a single race is $15 for those 10 and under and $20 for adults. The registration fee for both races is $20 for those 10 and under and $25 for adults.
