The Manteca High girls basketball team was able to navigate through Lincoln’s pressure defense and picked up a big 50-40 win in Stockton Saturday.

It was the final day for nonleague games to count against playoff power ratings in the Sac-Joaquin Section, and a victory over the Division-I Trojans (7-7) bodes well for Division-III Manteca (8-5).

Courtney Range amassed 19 points, 23 rebounds and three blocks in her third appearance for the Buffaloes. Jessica Hasal poured in 14 points and four steals, Mikayla Hasal contributed nine points and Jasmine Odell grabbed 16 rebounds to go with six points.

Danielle Pacheco paced Lincoln with 20 points.

Manteca started the game with an 8-0 run, but Range got into foul trouble early in the second quarter.

“I had to sit her, but the rest of the team stepped up,” Manteca coach Cody Norman said. “Lincoln pressed us the majority of the game but we played well in making good passes and using the clock to get a good shot.”

The Buffaloes outscored Lincoln 15-8 in the fourth quarter to seal it.

They return to Valley Oak League action Wednesday at Sonora.
