Sierra still perfect after win at Kimball

The Sierra High freshman basketball team remained perfect on the season, sneaking out of Tracy with a 46-43 Valley Oak League victory over the Kimball Jaguars.

Daniel Wyatt led all scorers with 22 points, including five 3-pointers, and both Jess Spivey (12 points) and Tanner Peterson (11 points) finished in double-figures.

Sierra (4-0 VOL, 12-0 overall) will be back on the court Tuesday when they host the Manteca Buffaloes.

Sophomroes 

Weston Ranch 62, Lathrop 46

Jalen Ragsdale scored a game-high 20 points to help lead the Cougars (4-2, 8-3) past the Spartans.

Erron Duncan chipped in with 10.

Lathrop was paced by Yancy Ram and Khari Williams, who netted 16 and 10, respectively.

East Union 51, Oakdale 47 2OT

East Union rallied late to push Oakdale into a pair of overtime periods, converting 10 free throws in the second one to best Oakdale’s junior varsity team 51-47 in double overtime on Thursday.

Cody Keran scored 22 points and converted 12 of his 14 attempts from the foul line in the second half and extra periods. Lucas Garcia added 12 for the Lancers while Gabe Chavez chipped seven.

Freshmen

East Union 45, Oakdale 36

The Lancer freshmen escaped with a 45-36 win despite a 29-16 swing in Oakdale’s favor in the second half. East Union led 29-11 at the half and spread the ball around to Austin Miller, Daniel Ramos and Jeff Rodriguez (all scored 11 points).

Girls

Ripon 41, Hughson 32

The Indians sophomore basketball team ahdnled the Hughson Huskies by nine Thursday in Trans Valley League play.

Karisa Carlson led the Indians with eight, while Jourdy Richter chipped in with seven.

Ripon Christian 38, Denair 16

The Lady Knights sophomore basketball team pulled away from Denair behind an 18-1 third quarter run to improve to 3-0 in Southern League play.

Elisabeth Regusci led Ripon Christian with 10 points, eight assists and seven steals, while sister Elise Regusci chipped in with six.
