This is the first copy of your edition of the Ripon Bulletin.

It is the end result of conversations with people in Ripon as well as a survey of our readers.

The Bulletin’s goal is to bring you news of the community Monday through Saturday running the gamut from city issues, schools and sports to events and features that capture the fabric of life in Ripon. The Ripon edition of the Bulletin is designed to put upfront emphasis on news that is of importance to Ripon residents. There is still news of neighboring communities, sports, the state, nation, and world. But your paper is Ripon centric as it should be for the place where you have chosen to live, work, play and raise a family.

In a way, the Bulletin is getting back to its roots.

Ripon is where we started. Back in June of 1910 we started in Ripon as the Irrigation Bulletin as the South San Joaquin Irrigation District was being formed. When SSJID moved to Manteca in May 1912, the Irrigation Bulletin followed. By 1917, the front page nameplate was changed from the Irrigation Bulletin to the Manteca Bulletin although Ripon news continued to be a part of the newspaper.

Our intent is to provide a vibrant voice for Ripon six days a week.
