Tango champion duo returning to Modesto

MODESTO - Marcelo Molina and Carolina Vazquez, who in 2011 won the stage category of the Argentine Tango USA competition for the Tango World Cup in Buenos Aires, will be in Modesto on Saturday, March 2.
They will give workshops and perform at a milonga (social tango party) hosted by Modesto Tango at Jacobs Fine Dining, 2501 McHenry Ave.
The partnership was formed in 2008. They currently help expand Fresno's tango community. They have done workshops and shows throughout California.
A performer, choreographer and instructor, Molina was born and raised in Córdoba, Argentina. He began his dance studies in 1997 joining the "Sangre Latina"  dance company. He was in the cast of  "El Viejo Almacén", one of Buenos Aires' oldest and most prestigious tango shows, before coming to California.
Vasquez, with ballet, jazz and modern dance training,  transferred in 2004 to California State University Fresno for a degree in theatre arts.
Workshops will be at 1 and 2:30 p.m. Cost will be $25 for one class, $40 for both
The milonga at 8:30 p.m. with an introductory lesson at 7:30 p.m. Cost will be $10.
