Cynthia Randall totaled three goals in United’s two-win opener of the Manteca Area Soccer League season Saturday at Woodward Park.

In the 8 a.m. contest, United blanked Liverpool 4-0 with Cheyenne Carter, Lynda Crescini and Sophia Vukanovich preserving the shutout on the back line. Taylor Gray and Sharia Davidson shared time at goal.

Randall scored twice, with Nikkie Rodriguez and Anna Arriola dropping in one apiece.

In its afternoon match, the United returned to knock off the Strikers, 3-1. Arriola, Randall and Rodriguez struck once again on the offensive end, with Davidson chipping in an assist.

In another MASL girls action:

Pink Panthers 5, Blizzards 4

Samantha Kinard poured in three goals, and Monica Martinez added one more for the Blizzards in the offensive shootout.

Kaitlyn McGriff (nine saves) and Alex Tolman (12 saves) did a good job of keeping their team in it from the goalkeeper position. Gracyn Rusconi, Maureya May and Sierra Downum provided good support from the midfield and were in on some nice assists.

Fury 3, Strikers 3

Neena Umpad blasted in a pair of goals, Monique Angel recorded one and goalie Kareena Escartin (six saves) and the rest of the defense helped preserve a hard-earned draw for the Fury.

Marissa King, Jeanette Ramirez and Emma Broderick each had a goal for the Strikers. Netminder Carolina Ortega and defender Taylor Hall were key in the second half.

Fury stalwarts Georgia Arriola and Angel made some big stops on the defensive end.

Team United 3, Rockets 2

Both teams put on quite the offensive display after a scoreless half of play, as Team United, powered by Stephania Mercado’s two goals, overcame a two-score deficit steal the victory.

Alyssa Urtega punched in the deciding goal.

Lightning Strikes 7, Mustangs 3

Julissa Pimental, Chelsey Medeiros and Paige Williams scored one goal apiece for the Mustangs.
