‘A response to a response is not very productive’

Editor, Manteca Bulletin,
My goal with each letter I write to the paper is to provide factual information to inform the public of issues concerning America.  While many Democrats have tried to slander me, I have tried to avoid being involved in their disrespectful tactics and have responded with respect and truthfulness.  Each time I write a letter, Larry Baca and his followers fall apart and come up with accusations of lies, disrespectful comments, and now accusations of “cut and paste”.  This is just their frugal attempt to bring down my credibility.  I only try to put out the facts.

When I wrote the last article, I looked up several lists of attempted attacks on America and several lists of attacks throughout the world.  I did not find one list to just cut and paste as I am accused.  I wish it was that easy or have known or the site Mr. Baca was referring to of a list of world attacks or attempted attacks in America by terrorists.  I actually had no one full complete list and took several lists and modified them while eliminating smaller attacks to make the list for the paper.  I have all that information for anyone to review.  Of course any list put out there would be the same type of list since it has the same information and dates.  That does not make it “Cut and Paste” as they claim.  These accusations are only to draw people away from the real issue.  The list of attempted attacks on America and real attacks beyond America provides us the reality of a real enemy.  If we are not proactive in stopping the enemy, we will be attacked again. That is reality and not a scare tactic. Bombs and death do not know the difference between Democrats or Republicans.

Larry Baca and his followers have also accused me of using “scare tactics” and “fear mongering” in response to my letter “Have we forgotten Sept. 11, 2001?” It is not fear mongering or scare tactics to report facts.  Larry Baca then claimed I lied and used “scare tactics gone wild” when I stated the word terrorism is no longer used in the Obama administration. Larry, have you heard the word terrorism used in the Obama administration?  In an interview on March 19, 2009, Home Land Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said, “I presume there is always a threat from terrorism. In my speech, although I did not use the word ‘terrorism,’ I referred to “man-caused” disasters. That is perhaps only a nuance, but it demonstrates that we want to move away from the politics of fear toward a policy of being prepared for all risks that can occur.”

Larry Baca then states I make up the claim about 245 hardened terrorists in Guantanamo Bay and that we do not know if they are hardened terrorists. Apparently Larry does not trust our government’s assessment of these terrorists captured on the battlefield and that only the most violent and sophisticated terrorists were taken to Guantanamo Bay. If Larry does not trust our government to make that assessment, how does he expect our government to access people with government-run health care?  We cannot afford to just endanger American and let these terrorists return to the battlefield to fight against America.  According to the United States Department of Defense the number of former Guantanamo Bay detainees returning to terrorist activities is on the rise.  Pentagon spokesman Geoff Morrell told reporters that 61 former detainees from the U.S. military facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba have returned to the fight against the United States and its allies.

I should not feel obligated to respond to these men or other Democrats each time I write a letter, but their accusations are fruitless and only meant to bring down my credibility each time.  This should have been one subject that we should have been able to agree on.  It seems like President Obama and the Democratic Party can do nothing wrong in the eyes of their blind followers.  I have spoken against President Bush and the Republican Party when I had disagreements.  Why can you be rational to do the same?  Each person should see from the list that we are still in a war against terrorism, even if our government or the Democrats in this city want to call it something else or assume it does not exist at all.

My only statement directed to Larry Baca is his quote in Wednesday’s paper when he said, “Normally a response to a response is not very productive.” Yes, Larry it is not productive.
