Students of the Manteca Unified District’s Regional Occupational Program will again work together at the annual Fashion Show on Saturday.

The Premiere Runway event will take place at the Sierra High large gym, 1700 Thomas St., from 7 to 9 p.m.

Instructor Angie Anaya noted Wednesday that over 120 of the latest outfits from the likes of JC Penney’s, TJ Maxx, Maurices, Elaine’s, La Pink, Old Navy, Marissa’s Closet, Toni&Guy, Banana Republic, Aeropostale, rue21, and the Formal Connection will be showcased by her students, who will serve as models.

Last year’s show sold about 900 tickets. “We’re trying to top that (mark),” Anaya said.

Admission is $5, with proceeds benefiting the Fashion Merchandising class and club, specifically, their upcoming endeavor to the Los Angeles Fashion District.

For the first time, ROP alumni will assist in displaying some of their work at the runway event, according to Anaya.

She applauded the efforts of the Interior Design class of Valerie Flores at Sierra High for doing the décor of the large gym.

The Fashion Show will receive added ROP support from:

• Amy Lee’s Culinary Arts class handling the desserts and beverages.

• Dave Koch’s Video Production class capturing every minute of the show.

• Liz Aschenbrenner’s Fashion Design students putting together the ‘glam bags’ for the already sold-out VIP area, consisting of an assortment of cosmetics donated by the local businesses.

• Joe Waller’s Careers in Law Enforcement class providing the security.
