LATHROP – Deputies are asking for the public’s help in finding two men they believe robbed a 13-year-old male and a 15-year-old female at gunpoint on Feb. 27.

Lathrop Police Services responded to a call at the corner of Somoa and Julie Lanes shortly after 10 p.m. when it was reported that two men – identified as black males with dark hooded sweatshirts pulled down over their eyes – pulled out guns and demanded the victims’ belongings.

After procuring their cell phones the two assailants then allegedly fled in an older, silver, four-door vehicle with stock rims.

The lack of clear identification, said San Joaquin County Sherriff Public Information Officer Les Garcia, is making it hard for officers to conduct a proper search.

“Right now we have very little to go on so we’re hoping that maybe somebody witnessed something and that they’ll come forward,” he said. “Just the age of the victims – this is very concerning to us. Hopefully somebody knows something or has seen something and may be able to help in the investigation.
