‘Hit the Streets for Hunger’ fun run April 6 helps 2nd Harvest Food Bank

A 5K Walk/Run on Saturday, April 6, benefits Second Harvest Food Bank of San Joaquin and Stanislaus counties  along the Tidewater Bike Path in conjunction with the Manteca Street Faire.

This will be the fourth annual Hit the Streets for Hunger event to raise awareness and funds for Second Harvest Food Bank. It is a family friendly event and all ages are welcome to participate.

Registration forms are available at Second Harvest Food Bank, 704 E Industrial Park Drive, Manteca or the Manteca Visitors office, 1422 Grove Ave, Manteca. Pre-registration is encouraged.

On the day of the event, registration and check in will begin at 7a.m., the 1 mile race will begin at 8 a.m., and the 5K race will begin at 8:30 a.m. The winners will be announced and awards will be given at 10 a.m. on the stage in Library Park.

 Registration and the start and finish of the race will be located at the corner of Elm and Center streets in Manteca. Entry fees are as follows; Pre-registration $20, day of registration $25, and family registration (pre-registration only) $50. An event T-shirt is guaranteed if your registration is post-marked by March 21. All families registered are guaranteed four shirts.
