FRENCH CAMP — A couple in their mid-20s had their day ruined when Manteca Police caught up with them Friday allegedly growing marijuana, selling methamphetamine and having a stash of drug asset money and guns in French Camp.

Arrested were Harley Hoag, 25, and Marissa Araujo, 24, both of French Camp.

The marijuana was valued at $83,000 and the methamphetamine had a street value of $3,000, police said.  Cash, reportedly from drug sales, added another $8,000 to the search revenue.

The arrests came out of a drugs investigation that was initiated by the Manteca Police Street Crimes Unit (SCU) under the direction of Sgt. Chris Mraz.  A search warrant was served on the couple at their Lockhart Road residence shortly after 8:30 a.m.

Mraz said that during the search of the home a large amount of methamphetamine was located along with evidence of drug sales.  A recently harvested marijuana grow with eight pounds of marijuana along with hashish was discovered in the home.

PG&E was notified and confirmed the occupants of the home were stealing power to operate the marijuana grow in a converted bedroom using grow lights.

A stolen vehicle and two other vehicles with the vehicle identification numbers (VIN) altered were found in the back yard of the Lockhart Road address.

During the search warrant service SCU seized five firearms including two rifles, two handguns and a shotgun with ammunition for all of the weapons.

Hoag was charged with marijuana cultivation, possession of marijuana for sale, possession of methamphetamine for sale, transportation of methamphetamine, possession of hashish, armed in the commission of a felony, possession of a stolen vehicle and the theft of utility services over $1,000.

Araujo was also charged with marijuana cultivation, possession of marijuana for sale, possession of methamphetamine for sale and theft of the PG&E power over $1,000.
