MODESTO - The Associated Students of Modesto Junior College will offer a showing of the documentary Harvest of Empire, the untold story of Latinos in America, on Friday, April 12, at 7 p.m. in Forum 110 on East Campus.  The film is free, open to the public and will be followed by a discussion with the film’s director, Eduardo Lopez.

Harvest of Empire is a feature-length documentary that reveals the direct connection between the long history of U.S. Intervention in Latin America and the immigration crisis that is faced today.  The film takes an unflinching look at the role that U.S. economic and military interests played in triggering an unprecedented wave of migration that is transforming our nation’s cultural and economic landscape. Harvest of Empire is based on the groundbreaking book by Juan Gonzalez, an award-winning journalist, co-founder and co-host of Democracy Now!
