Maurilio A. Gonzalez, 66, entered into rest on September 11, 2009. He was born on January 23, 1943 in Jalisco, Mexico. He joins his father in heaven, the late Benjamin Gonzalez and his sister Silvia Marquez.

Mr. Gonzales is survived by his beloved wife Mary Gonzalez, his mother; Josefina Amezquita Gonzalez of Mexico, children; son, Benjamin E. Gonzalez and wife Cecilia Gonzalez and daughters Roseanna E. Gonzalez of Fremont, Angelica Amezquita and Maricela Monnarez, both of Union City. He was blessed by 4 grandsons; Roman, Daniel, Maximillian, and Benjamin. In addition he is survived by his 4 siblings; Rosendo and wife Margot Gonzalez of Union City, Gloria Vasquez of Salinas, Susana Ulloa of Mexico, Alicia Mata of Mexico, Guadalupe Lopez of Union City, and Elijio Gonzalez of Fremont.

Maurilio worked as a machinist for over 40 years for various companies. He retired at Christy Concrete in Fremont, California after 8 years of service. He was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary in Union City and St. Patrick’s Catholic Church of Ripon. He enjoyed cooking and tending to his garden. Maurilio’s grandsons meant the world to him. He commonly boasted about his grandsons to everyone he knew; he loved them deeply. Maurilio will be remembered as a firm but very faithful man; who was compassionate and caring to everyone he came across. He will be greatly missed.

Mr. Gonzalez’s services are being handled by P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home. A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 17, from 1 to 7 p.m. followed by a Rosary at 7 p.m. both held at P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home 290 N. Union Road, Manteca. A Mass will be held on Friday, September 18, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church 525 E. North St. Manteca, Ca. Burial will follow at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery 17871 S. Carrolton Road, Escalon.
