Pulos’ four wins anchors East Union boys

East Union’s Nick Pulos put together an impressive performance during Wednesday’s Valley Oak League contest against visiting Weston Ranch.

Pulos recorded four first-place finishes (110 and 300 meter hurdles, high jump and triple jump) as the Lancers knocked off the Cougars, 75 ½-55 ½.

Angelo Zerbini took first in the 200-meter dash, second in the long jump and second in the 100. Angel Franco finished in second in the 1,600 and 3,200 for the Lancers (2-3 VOL).

The East Union boys frosh-soph team knocked off the Cougars, 111-21.

East Union’s girls didn’t have too much trouble knocking off Weston Ranch, 90-33.

Sarah Jackson finished in first for both hurdle events, which helped the Lancers improve to 3-2 in the conference standings.

EU’s Josephine Valdez took first in the discus and shot put, while Rebecah Jacobson took home the gold in the triple and long jump. Jordan McNeal placed first in the 100 and was second in the 200. She also anchored the winning 4x1 relay team.

The Lancers’ frosh-soph team picked up a lopsided 110-9 victory.



Sierra 101 ½, Kimball 32 ½

Sierra improved to 5-1 in the VOL and is sitting in second place after knocking off visiting Kimball.

Sierra’s Justin Patton won the 400 and the high jump. Jake Soupinger took second in the 400 and 200 for the T’Wolves, who had at least one medalist in every event and swept four of them.



GIRLS

Kimball 74, Sierra 60

Sierra fell to 4-2 in the VOL after losing a tough competition against visiting Kimball Tracy.

Jalya Williams won the triple jump, long jump and anchored the 4x1 relay team that took first. Haley Silva won the 1,600 and the 800 as well.
