MODESTO - Celebrated L.A. culture-mashers Ozomatli - a notorious urban-Latino-and-beyond collision of hip hop and salsa, dance hall and cumbia, samba and funk, merengue and comparsa, East LA R&B and New Orleans second line, Jamaican ragga and Indian raga - performs at the State Theatre tonight.

Doors open at 7 p.m. with the concert at 8 p.m. Tickets are $22, $28, and $35.

Born as a multi- racial crew in post-uprising '90s L.A., the band has built a formidable reputation over four full-length studio albums and a relentless touring schedule for taking party rocking so seriously that it became new-school musical activism.
Opening for Ozo is El Conjunto Nueva Ola whose mission is to get people to dance to the rhythm of cumbia, mixing new wave, rock and disco sounds into hits from various iconic groups like La Sonora Dinamita, to the late Chico Che & Rigo Tovar.

El Conjunto Nueva Ola has appeared on Telemundo, Telefutura and Univision, and shared stages with artists such as Jenni Rivera, Aleks Syntek, Belanova and Akwid.
