The Mistlin Sports Complex could be ready for use by March 2014.

That’s the best guess provided Kevin Werner at the Ripon City Council meeting on Tuesday.

“Based on the contract, construction completion is mid-August,” said the interim city administrator / city engineer. “The grass would then need time to get established.”

Werner was asked about the timelines for the Mistlin Sports Complex by Councilman Leo Zuber.

Construction continues on the four new softball fields around the signature tower, with bleachers, concessions, and restrooms as part of the plans.

O.C. Jones & Sons are the general contractor for this project.

The Lodi civil engineering firm of Neil O Anderson & Associates handled the foundation excavation for the dugouts, field density testing, and reinforcing steel and concrete observation,  to name a few.

Council approved the progress payments to Anderson & Associates ($1,254) and O.C. Jones & Sons ($720,590).

The project had some existing utility conflicts that interfered with the underground infrastructure plan during the early stages of construction several months earlier.

However, those matters were taken care of as existing irrigation mainline were lowered, potable water and storm drain conflicts not to mention existing utilities were added as well as fire hydrants and gutter connections at the tower, grease interceptor and gas line.
