BOY ARRESTED WITH GUN AT LODI SCHOOL: LODI - A 13-year-old boy is in juvenile hall after being found with a .22 caliber revolver and four bullets at his Lodi school Tuesday, according to the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Department.

Sheriff's Deputy Les Garcia said deputies were dispatched to Henderson Community Day School at 13451 N. Extension Road at approximately 9:40 a.m. for a report of a student with a gun on campus.

Probation officers arrived first as part of a random probation check on the youth in question who is on probation for robbery, Garcia said. The probation officers said they searched the teen and found the gun and bullets on his person.

Deputies took custody of the teen who faces possession of firearm in a school zone.

TEEN SAVES YOUNG BOY FROM BEING KIDNAPPED: MODESTO- Marisa Martinez, 13, is being hailed a hero for saving an 8-year-old boy from being kidnapped.

On Sunday, Martinez and two boys were playing basketball in a driveway when they say they noticed a man trying to break into a neighbor’s home.

After he was confronted by Martinez, the man - identified as 32-year-old John Jenkins -  grabbed one of the kids, an 8-year-old boy, and started walking away.

That is when Martinez stepped in to save him.

Martinez was able to pull the boy away from Jenkins and run to her mother.

Her mother and others at a nearby church kept an eye on Jenkins until Modesto Police arrived.

Jenkins is a registered sex offender. He is now in custody for kidnapping and molesting a child.


POLICE LOOK FOR A SUSPECTED SHOOTER IN CERES: CERES - Police in Ceres are searching parts of Evans Road, Central Avenue and Herndon Road as they look for a man they believe shot a woman in the foot.

The man is about 30 years old and was last seen wearing a black shirt with a black and red hat.

The woman was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
