Two Ripon High School seniors have been charged with three felonies in the theft of a Ripon Christian Schools golf cart that ended up in the Ripon High aquatic center swimming pool, according to Ripon Police First Sergeant Steve Merchant.

The boys – 17 and 18 years old – reportedly admitted taking the golf cart to School Resource Officer Trevor McGinnis on Wednesday.  It was unclear how the Ripon Christian School’s equipment ended up on the Ripon High campus and ultimately at the bottom of the training pool.  A tow truck had to be used to remove the cart from the water.

The teens were charged with grand theft, conspiracy and felony vandalism.  Both were given citations and released from custody awaiting their court dates.

The value of the loss in the submersion of the golf cart in the water was not released Thursday.
