Armed robbery at Lathrop carwash

LATHROP – A man that asked for a “light” for his cigarette Thursday afternoon ended up taking a lot more.


According to Lathrop Police a local man was at a carwash on the 15000 block of Howland Road when he was approached and asked if he had a lighter. The man then pulled out a gun and demanded the wallet of the victim – who also ended up turning over his cell phone, his Dell laptop computer and five silver dollars.

The suspect – described as a white male between 45 and 60 years of age, standing 6-foot tall and sporting a thin build – was last seen wearing blue jeans and a maroon colored sweatshirt
