A new elementary school principal is exp ected to be named by Ripon Unified School District Trustees at a special meeting tonight in the city council chambers.

There are five elementary schools in the district. A call to the superintendent’s office Friday afternoon asking for clarification as to the school or principal in question was not returned.

It was not clear by the agenda posting if one of the current principals is going to be replaced or is retiring.  There has been no mention of any resignations pending among the elementary schools administrators.

The current list of principals include Warren Council, Ripona Elementary School; Mike Larson, Ripon Elementary School; Lisa Ferrira, Weston Elementary School; Mona Ogden, Park View Elementary School; and Amy Carter at Colony Oak Elementary School.

Council is the longest serving principal in the Ripon district.

A closed board session is slated for 5 p.m. and the open session is scheduled at 8 p.m. for public input from the public on the board action and immediately followed by a second session closed to the public.
