Looking to make a pretty penny on some unwanted items?

The City of Ripon’s Community Yard Sale is right around the corner.

At last week’s Ripon City Council, Ted Johnston, director of public works, provided a reminder of the annual event scheduled Saturday, May 4, at the Mistlin Sports Complex.

The Community Yard Sale will be held from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.

For those interested, spaces at Mistlin are 10- by 19- feet and each person will be limited to no more than three spaces.

Cost per space is $5 for folks in the city limits and $10 for non-residents. Check-in 6 a.m. on the day of the Yard Sale in the front entrance of the complex at River Road.

Among the important information for those taking part includes:

• No selling of any large qualities of new items.

• No selling of any food products.

• Removing all debris from their assigned area.

• All trash and unsold items must be cleared before leaving or fees will be forfeited.

The only food booth will be provided by the local Boy’s Scouts.

The intent of this program is to promote recycling of used items for residents, according to City of Ripon website (www.cityofripon.org).

Johnston added that enrollment forms are available by logging on to the city website or dropping by Ripon City Hall, 259 N. Wilma Ave.
