Fifty-one students from Nile Garden School were recognized at the annual commencement exercises on Wednesday.

Leading the way were Jessica Campa and Alejandra Pacheco. Both were class speakers for the eighth-grade promotion ceremony held at the Manteca Unified School District campus.

Campa’s speech was called “Memories Last Forever” while Pacheco talked about “A Look into the Future.”

The Nile Garden Class of 2013 was greeted with the processional playing of “Pomp and Circumstance.”

Among the classmates, Bikram Thiara led in the flag salute while Halle DeGroot and Legacy Barnes welcomed family, friends and special guests in attendance.

The school choir performed “Touch the Sky,” the school band played “Minor Rock,” and Patrick Silveira introduced those school board members and district administrators.

Principal Deborah Noceti-Ward presented her eighth-grade students receiving awards and certificates of promotion, with acceptance being provided by Salma Orozco and Kattia Aguilar.

The closing remarks were made by Selena Toliver.

From there, the classmates departed with the recessional, “River City Parade.”
