Anne DiGiulio didn’t sit much during Thursday’s graduation ceremony at Park View Elementary School.

The beaming grandmother had two to celebrate – and photograph.

During the presentation of diplomas, DiGiulio stood off to the side with her tablet, capturing her twin grandsons, Miles and Bryce Kinsey, as they crossed over from eighth grade to high school.

And so it went Thursday evening at Park View Elementary School, where the multi-purpose room was decked in purple and white balloon arrangements and the graduates stood center stage.

Principal Mona Ogden presented the Class of 2013, which consisted of 29 graduates. Ripon Unified School District Board of Trustees member Ernie Tyhurst handed out the Trustee Awards and later presented the graduates with their diplomas.

Amanda Evans delivered the welcome speech and classmate Emily Reynoso introduced the guest speaker – Imari Reynoso.

Following the presentation of diplomas, the graduates left the stage and found seats at the rear of the multi-purpose room. There, among their friends and family, they watched a slide show of their time at Park View Elementary.

The class motto, as inscribed on the graduation program: “Life brings tears, smiles and memories. Tears dry, smiles fade, but memories last forever.”

And just in case her memory fails, Grandma DiGiulio has a back-up plan: A tablet full of pictures and video.
