Ronald Dean Farmer, 67, entered into rest on Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2009 in Modesto. He was born on April 30, 1942 in French Camp. Ron was a resident of Salida for 22 years and previously resided in Manteca.

Ron was 1 of 15 children and was preceded in death by his brother, Robert and sister, Betty Gaines. He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Bonnie Pooley-Farmer of Salida. HIs children Melinda Burgess and husband Clint of Manteca and Monica Haug and husband Gordon of Modesto.

Ron was also survived by his three grandchildren, Melissa Burgess, Jon Burgess and Montana Haug. In addition he is survived by siblings, Peggy Stuva of Las Vegas, Joyce Braley of Stockton, Patricia Johnson of Turlock, Clarence Farmer of AZ, Orval Farmer of GA, Sandra Zavala of Valley Springs, Frankie Farmer of Patterson, Marguerite Bradley of Patterson, Gerald Farmer of CO, Jesse Farmer of TX, Paul Farmer of Patterson, Kathleen Correia of Valley Springs.

Ron was a carpenter for 47 years out of Carpenters Local 25 and retired from Panelized Structures of Modesto. He was a member of the Eagles Aerie #2781 and also a Clamper. He was a huge fan of NASCAR and enjoyed watching the SF 49ers and Giants. Ron loved singing and playing his guitar at family gatherings and with his band The El Segundo Wildcats. He enjoyed cruising with his wife Bonnie and their many friends. He loved his wife, daughter and grandchildren very much and took great joy at spending time with all of them. Ron will be remembered as an easy-going guy with a great sense of humor. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Funeral services are being handled by P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home, Manteca. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2009 at 2:30 p.m. at P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home, 290 N. Union Road, Manteca. Final resting place will be at Park View Cemetery.
