Editor, Manteca Bulletin,

I don’t have names for everyone who volunteered to help place the crosses at Woodward Park for the Memorial Day event but I was truly humbled by the response that we got from the news article published in the Manteca Bulletin.  I counted over 70 volunteers on Friday and we had enough to complete the placing of the crosses in one day.

On Saturday, several people came out to straighten and paint the crosses.  The entire project was completed in two short days.  There are not enough words to express my gratitude to the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Warrant Officers Association, Nuts N Bolts car club, Veterans at Del Webb, Rotary, Kiwanis, Manteca High JROTC and all of the citizens from various cities around the area (one gentleman from Chula Vista) who gave up their day to help with this project.  I know that all of the Gold Star families who attended and many others were grateful for your efforts.  Thank you all again from the bottom of my heart.
