CHER TO PERFORM LIVE ON NBC'S 'THE VOICE' : LOS ANGELES (AP) — Cher has a date with NBC's "The Voice."

NBC said Monday the pop star will perform live on the talent contest's June 18 season finale.

She will sing "Woman's World," the first single off her upcoming album of the same name, the network said.

Cher, who turned 67 in May, joins other pop artists who have appeared on NBC's hit series and other TV contests to promote new records. They include "Voice" guest stars Rod Stewart and Lady Antebellum.

Cher's "Woman's World" album, her first in 12 years, is due out later this year.

The Grammy, Oscar and Emmy-winner has scored a No. 1 single on the Billboard pop charts in each of the last six decades, including her 1998 single "Believe."

PRINCE PHILIP SPENDS 92ND BIRTHDAY IN HOSPITAL: LONDON (AP) — Queen Elizabeth II visited her husband, Prince Philip, at a London hospital on Monday, where he was spending his 92nd birthday recovering from abdominal surgery.

Philip was "comfortable and in good spirits," Buckingham Palace officials said, but he will need about two months of convalescence following the surgery. Details of his condition were not released.

The queen spent about half an hour at the London Clinic in central London.

Earlier Monday, Philip's son, Prince Edward, made a similar visit. Afterward, Edward told reporters outside the hospital that his father was doing well.

Officials said Philip is expected to be hospitalized for about two weeks before going into convalescence.

They said the royal is "progressing satisfactorily" after the exploratory surgery at the clinic on Friday. Results of various tests are expected this week, but it is not clear if the diagnosis will be made public.

Philip has suffered heart and bladder problems in the past, but he appeared well when he was last seen in public at a Buckingham Palace garden party Thursday.

His birthday was officially celebrated by two extended gun salutes in central London.

LOUISIANA SINGER WINS TUPELO ELVIS TRIBUTE CONTEST: TUPELO, Miss. (AP) — A hip-shakin' singer from Louisiana will represent Elvis Presley's birthplace in an annual contest of Elvis impersonators at Graceland.

Jay Dupuis, a Baton Rouge native who now lives in New Orleans, won Saturday's tribute competition in Tupelo, where more than 10,000 visitors attend the annual Elvis Festival, The Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal (http://bit.ly/111gTfs) reported.

Winning in Tupelo gives him an edge on the Elvis Week contest Aug. 13-17 in Memphis, Tenn., Dupuis said Sunday.

"This has been on my wish list for a long time," he said.

He said he's looking forward to vocal and physical workouts as he prepares.

Semifinalists come from nearly 30 contests worldwide and a "last chance" contest in Memphis Aug. 9-11.

'COMMUNITY' REUNITED WITH CREATOR DAN HARMON: LOS ANGELES (AP) — NBC's quirky sitcom "Community" is getting creator Dan Harmon back in charge for season five.

NBC said Monday that Harmon will be joined by another former "Community" producer, Chris McKenna.

Harmon was replaced as showrunner for season four after a clash with then-cast member Chevy Chase. In voicemails that Harmon released last year, Chase called "Community" a "mediocre sitcom."

Chase has left the series set at a community college. The ensemble cast includes Joel McHale, Yvette Nicole Brown and Alison Brie.

"Community" has modest ratings but a devoted following, among them the 5,000 or so fans who attended a Comic-Con panel last summer.

In May, NBC announced that the sitcom had been renewed for a fifth year but didn't say where it would land on the 2013-14 schedule.

'GLEE' STAR JANE LYNCH AND WIFE ANNOUNCE DIVORCE : HOLLYWOOD (AP) -  "Glee" star Jane Lynch is divorcing her wife of three years.

Lynch married Dr. Lara Embry in 2010 in Massachusetts. She told People magazine in a statement Monday that splitting up was "a difficult decision for us as we care very deeply about one another."

Lynch asked for privacy for the family, which includes Embry's daughter.

The 52-year-old actress met Embry, a 44-year-old clinical psychologist, in 2009 and they wed on Memorial Day in 2010.

Lynch is currently starring in "Annie" on Broadway and performed on Sunday night's Tony Awards on CBS.

‘THE PURGE' SCARES UP $34.1 MILLION AT BOX OFFICE: NEW YORK (AP) — Made for just $3 million, the suspense thriller "The Purge" scared up more than 10 times that in its opening weekend at the box office.

The Universal horror film took in $2 million less than the studio estimated Sunday, but its actual weekend haul of $34.1 million still blew away industry forecasts.
