Don’t become slaves to the government

Editor, Manteca Bulletin,

Let us start with a lesson from the Bible. Genesis 47, verse 13-27. In the times of the Pharaoh hard times fell upon the people of Egypt. The people turned to the Pharaoh and he nationalized the grain harvest. The people brought their money to get grain and they became hungry.

After their money ran out they brought their property for food. They then offered their lives and became slaves. What does this story reveal? That by selling ourselves to the government instead of following teachings from the past, i.e., what the founders of the country based the Constitution on, the teachings from the Bible, we have let the government take over.

People call Obama the “Messiah” but he is just a man and by looking at the things he has done to this country by his appointees, he would have to, in fact, be Pharaoh.

We can see the same thing happening today as what happened during Pharaoh’s time. The government is taking the wealth, i.e., health care, the stimulus package, TARP, cap & trade, etc., and then deciding who will receive the benefit whether it has been earned or not.

I don’t know about you and your family but we don’t want to be slaves to the government.
