Another family tired of illegal fireworks

Editor, Manteca Bulletin,

The evenings and nights in Manteca are far from calm and quiet. We have several groups that love shooting their guns or exploding illegal explosive fireworks. Some evenings the booms can number 30 to 50 or more. Just two nights ago, within less than an hour, we heard well over 30 in less than a half an hour.

I am happy to see that two other people have sent a letter to the editor and I wish to file the third complaint. We also have dogs and these noises create havoc for both of them and it can take well over 3 hours before they can calm down. But this problem is also how it may affect our children, friends, seniors and the community.

Please note that there have been days when we have heard well over 50 in one night and I am not speaking of the 4th of July. I have called and will continue to call our police department, as I feel this is a community problem. I am sure there are hundreds of other people that feel the same way and let’s begin working with the police department by reporting incidents and search for other lawful means to help ourselves and eliminate the anxiety and sleepless nights.
