Avery Flores hit a walk-off RBI single that plated Benny Slaughter and gave the Northgate Little League Red Sox an 11-10 win over the Patterson Angels in the bottom of the sixth inning Monday.

The Red Sox advance in the consolation bracket of the District 67 Tournament of Champions and face host Lathrop tonight at Mossdale Landing Community Park.

Slaughter started on the hill for the Red Sox and went four innings, striking out nine and being relieved with a 5-3 lead. The Angels went on to take advantage of three errors to score three runs in the fifth and four in the sixth to tie the game at 10-10 and set up Slaughter’s heroics.

Angel Flores and Carson Hibbs were both 2 for 2 with an RBI and two runs scored for Northgate and teammates Josh Hebert and Avery Flores each had an RBI single.

On Sunday the Spreckles Park Dodgers won 14-8 to send the Angels to the consolation bracket.

Gabe Cordova was 3 for 3 with two RBI for the Dodgers, and Isaih Ford was 2 for 3 with an RBI. Frankie Romo had an RBI on a ground-rule double.

On Wednesday, the Spreckels Park Dodgers take on Tracy National in a winner’s bracket quarterfinal.

Gerson Gomez pitched all five innings in a mercy-rule-shortened contest at Paul Weston Park.

In addition to leading the defensive charge with six strikeouts, Gomez was 4 for 4. Jesse Espetia lacked a home run in his quest for the cycle, going 3 for 4 with a double, triple and two RBI. Jonathon Shaefer had five RBIs, going 3 for 4 with a double.

After playing for four days straight, the Orioles get a much-needed rest today and on Wednesday in the consolation semifinals at 6 p.m. will face the winner of today’s Spreckles Park-Tracy American tilt.
