ROLLING HILLS  (AP) — A $53 million mansion is up for sale in Southern California. But you can't see much of it unless you're underground.

The 50,000-square-foot home is in Rolling Hills, a gated horse-ranch community on the scenic Palos Verdes Peninsula south of Los Angeles.

The city limits homes to one story, so John Blazevich — a shrimp importer — built five more stories underground with amenities that include a huge Turkish bath and a tennis court. The above-ground area includes a swimming pool and working olive grove.

The California Spanish-style home — dubbed Hacienda de la Paz — is full of marble and hand-made tiles and took 17 years to complete.

Blazevich plans to move to Croatia to enter his family's wine-making business.
