Twain Harte hosts Summer Arts & Wine Festival on July 27-28

TWAIN HARTE — The 35th Twain Harte Summer Arts & Wine Festival takes place July 27-28 in the village’s downtown district.

Starting at the Twain Harte Arch (Joaquin Gully Road) nearly 100 high caliber artists will display and sell their fine wares which include watercolors, metal sculptures, iron work, pottery, photography, candles, fine jewelry of gold & silver, clothing & accessories, woodworks, stained glass, folk art, florals, bird houses & feeders, leather goods, soaps and lotions, garden art, kids face painter, and gourmet food products (such as Olive oil, Cajun spices, mustards, pastas, marinades, pepper jellies, salsa, dressings, and much more).

Festival kitchens will serve a wide variety of meals & treats — BBQ sausages, tri-tip, chicken sandwiches, brick oven pizza, snow cones, frozen fruit bars, beers, hamburgers, corn dogs, etc. Most of the restaurants in town will also be open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Eproson House Restaurant will be open once again with new owners.

The wine wine tasting event showcases vintners from Amador, Calaveras, Mendocino, Sonoma, Stanislaus and Tuolumne Counties. Angels Flight, Barefoot, Winery,

Chatom Vineyards,Cooper Vineyards, Eagle Rock Wine & Spirits, Gianelli Vineyards, Indigeny Reserve, Inner Sanctum Cellars, Irish Vineyards, Jazz Cellars Winery, Mt Brow Winery, Renner Wines, and possibly Four Winds Cellar are pouring their wines.

You can taste a variety of wines, along with smooth olive oils and fine finger foods provided by Black Oak Casino, The Jamestown Olive Oil Company and area restaurants. Bring $15 to purchase a commemorative wine glass with tasting booklet, and you are set to go from noon to 3 p.m., in the shade at Meadow Plaza (between the CDF Fire Station and Twain Harte Mini Golf), while at the same time enjoying live tunes by local musicians Jana & Leroy.

Show hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days. Admission is free.

Twain Harte is 12 miles east of Sonora, just off Highway 108.
