Host Sierra was 40 minutes away from being the first to blemish crosstown rival Manteca’s perfect record in Valley Oak League frosh-soph soccer action Thursday at Daniel Teicheira Memorial Stadium.

The Marin brothers kept that from happening.

Giovanni Marin scored once in the second half, and Ricardo Marin assisted two goals in the Buffaloes’ 3-1 victory that improves them to 9-0. Sierra dropped to 3-6.

Niko Gonzalez and Cameron Crippen added one goal apiece.

Sierra heads to Sonora next Tuesday, while Manteca hosts Weston Ranch next Thursday, Oct. 15 following a bye.
