Looking for something to do today in Manteca?

You’ve got your choice between corn, dogs, and elephants.
at Library Park

The Bark-toberfest pet fair and doggie costume contest takes place today from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Library Park in downtown as a benefit for the Manteca Police K9 unit.

You can pamper your pooch while shopping pet-related vendors, enjoying K9 demonstrations, have a chance to win raffle prizes and strut your mutt in a dog show.

Miss Teen Manteca 2009 Victoria Watson came up with the idea and is organizing the event. All proceeds benefit the Manteca Police K9 Association.
You can still enter the doggie parade for $15.

A corn maze made for little ones that also costs little available today from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Manteca Unified School District farm.

The corn maze, designed specifically for youngsters age 10 and under – includes is a scavenger hunt, with those kids finding all eight items in the maze earning a prize – and pumpkin patch are accessible via the district office complex parking lot at 2271 W. Louise Ave., and is open every Friday (1:30 p.m. through dusk) and Saturday (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) this month with the exception of Halloween.

Cost is $3 for youngsters age 2 and older. Those 1 and younger will be admitted free.

Pumpkins of all sizes along with decorative pieces such as wheat bundles, mini pumpkins and ornamental gourds are among the items available for sale.

Youngsters can also enjoy face painting along with arts and crafts, petting zoo, and pumpkin carving and tattooing.

Circus on
North Main

The Ramos Brothers Circus is in Manteca through Monday at 1300 N. Main St.

Show times are today at 5 and 8 p.m., Sunday at 2 and 5 p.m., and Monday at 8 p.m. General admission is $20, preferred seating is $25, and front row seating is $30. Children under 12 are $10.
