George Horst Koch
June 6, 1926 - June 28, 2013

George Horst Koch, 87, entered into rest on June 28, 2013 in Lathrop, CA. He was born to the late Georg Koch and Lucie Elli Hedwig Sachtleben on June 6, 1926 in Stadthagen, Germany.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Anneliese Kircthhoff, whom he married on August 19, 1949. He is also preceded in death by his two brothers, Hans Georg Koch and Rheiner Messerschmidt.
George  leaves behind his beloved family. He will be missed by his daughter and son-in-law, Monique and Tom Fallon of Lathrop, his granddaughter, Moriah Fallon, and his triplet grandsons, Matthew Thomas Fallon, George Samuel Fallon, and Geoffrey James Fallon. He is also survived by his two brothers, Hasso Messerschmidt and Bernd Messerschmidt of Germany.
George has been a resident of Lathrop for 13 years. Prior to moving to Lathrop, he lived in the bay area for 35 years.     George and his wife, Anneliese, immigrated to the United States in 1953 and became U.S. citizens shortly after arriving.  He received his degree in engineering while in Germany and worked in civil/structural engineering for over 40 years. George had a great love for music, photography, and learning.  He constantly looked for the newest radio so that when he was listening to his favorite music, it would feel like he was sitting at the symphony. He liked to take many pictures and develop them himself. He was always reading and studying so that he could expand his knowledge even up until his passing.
George was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  He had a great love, not only for his family, but for his fellow man as well.  He always showed that love by doing kind deeds for people. Whenever he saw a need, he never hesitated to help others. His love and kindness will be greatly missed.
Services for George Koch will be held on Friday, July 5, 2013, at the LDS Church, 1233 Northgate Drive, Manteca.  Viewing will be held at 9:00am with the service at 10:00am. He will be laid to rest next to his wife at Oakmont Memorial Park in Lafayette, CA at 2:30pm.
